The audio file “Traffic Clash” was created by ZEe HBE, a rising and talented Hip-hop/Pop/Soul/Afro/Gospel singer-songwriter of Nigerian origin. Known for his own unique signature, ZEe HBE has recorded a wonderful collection of songs that are a testament to the depth and diversity of his creativity and hard work in relationship to some events of his life.
The first challenge has ended, and understandably not all who started were able to finish. While we look positively ahead to future challenges, below is a compilation of the finished entries. Public release through a zoom meeting soon! The presentation structure solely represents the entry date and holds no statement about the evaluation of the works.
Chinwe Okoli is an architect turned 3D generalist turned writer. Even with a background more in technical design, she’s always had a lean and love towards the more creative side of art. With this challenge it would be her first attempt at finishing an animated short and one she’s intending not to be her last.
David Saah: “This competition limited us participants to a 30 second clip, which contained various sound effects and a couple dialog. The limitations being very interesting and challenging for me (I love challenges), I came up with a handful of scenarios and storyboards, which were tweaked with the help of the MTTS team”.
ZEe HBE: There are many ways to describe ZEe HBE, but unique, talented, and charismatic just seem to scratch the surface. However, there is one word that ties them all together and is true to their character: ZEe HBE is Real. Few people sing so honestly from their heart and soul.
Samuel Kahereobi , is an animator from Nigeria. He went fully into animation in 2018. The impressive thing about Samuel is that he animates on an Android phone using Stick nodes. Check out his works below
Kenneth Omollo, is an artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. In his words:
“It has been almost thirty years since I first held a pencil in an attempt to express myself creatively and ten years since I first learnt how to do the same on a computer. I was introduced to an animation apprenticeship in Nairobi in 2012 and had a blast doing what I loved”
